Stunt doubles, I tell ya.

Alistair critique:  Comic Al’s face is too angular, his eyes are too close together, and in contrast to his in-game model his eyes are round on the bottom and flat on the top.  His cheekbones are skinny and jawbone is hugely wide, in contrast to Al’s more gently sloping face.

Varric critique:  Comic face is too round, chin is short despite the fact that it juts, eyebrows are completely wrong and where are his sideburns?  Also the too-dark stubble makes him look gangster-ish and unshaven- Varric to me in-game always seemed impeccably groomed, scruff shaved to just the right length.  Also platemail on a rogue along with the kerchief is still making me reel in horror.

Isabela critique:  looks pretty good.  The necklace hangs a bit low- it’s a choker type in game, but small detail.  Boobs rendered lovingly.

Also eyes for all three on the large side compared to in-game models.

YMMV.  Some of you may love this art style, and I’m glad for ya if you do.

Personally I really don’t like it at all.  I don’t feel like he captured the essence of who these characters are, and it’s very jarring to me.

But that’s just my opinion.
